Special Education Teacher – Self-Contained Classroom
Schedule: Full-Time (37.5 Hours/Week)
School Year: August 6, 2026 – End of School Year
Grade Levels: Kindergarten–6th Grade
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a school district for the 2026–2027 school year . This full-time opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about working in a self-contained classroom supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to students in a self-contained classroom serving Kindergarten through 6th grade. The ideal candidate will create a structured, supportive learning environment while collaborating with school staff and families to help students achieve academic and behavioral success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students receiving special education services
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Implement behavior intervention strategies and maintain a positive classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and district requirements
Position Details
- Schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Start Date: August 6, 2026
- End Date: End of the 2026–2027 School Year
- Setting: Self-Contained Classroom
- Grade Levels: Kindergarten–6th Grade
- Caseload: Students with multiple support needs, including behavioral needs
- Training Provided: MPS/De-escalation Training
Requirements
- Active state Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Previous experience supporting students with behavioral needs preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
