Schedule

This position requires a combination of three 12-hour shifts per week, including one 0800-2030 shift. Available shifts are as follows:

• 0500-1730
• 0600-1830
• 0700-1930
• 0800-2030

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the HVI Pre Post unit will provide care for patients undergoing anesthesia recoveries and sedation. The role involves monitoring and managing patient recovery in both pre-operative and post-anesthesia environments. The unit supports various heart and vascular procedures, and a strong focus on cardiac experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in pre-operative, Phase 1, and Phase 2 recovery settings with a focus on cardiac cases.
• Maintain appropriate nurse-patient ratios (Pre-op 1:3, Phase 1 1:2, Phase 2 1:3).
• Administer sedation and manage recovery from anesthesia.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of PACU experience required; cardiac experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
