Registered Nurse ICU

Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care nursing services in the Neuro ICU, managing patients with neurologic and neurovascular conditions. Deliver comprehensive care, monitor neurological status, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ neurological condition and vital signs continuously to detect changes.
• Administer medications and treatments, including bedside EVD placement, lumbar puncture, and central line management.
• Document patient progress and procedures accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and update care plans.
• Educate patients and family members on neurological conditions and post-procedure care.
• Maintain strict adherence to unit policies, protocols, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of Texas or appropriate license for travel nursing.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, with neuro ICU experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Meditech EMR system required.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and self-motivation.
• Neuro-specific skills, such as management of EVDs and lumbar drains, are highly desirable.
