Physician, Pediatric Pulmonologist & Sleep Medicine

Position Summary The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatric Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine physician qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank to join the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV. Duties Practice pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine in inpatient and outpatient settings, including primary pulmonary and multidisciplinary clinics. Provide outreach services via telemedicine to clinics around the state. Perform procedures such as bronchoscopies and interpret pulmonary function tests as well as sleep studies. Provide excellent patient care while actively teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications MD, DO, or foreign equivalent and eligibility for a state medical license. Completed a pediatrics residency program and a pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine fellowship program. Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology, with additional board certification in Sleep Medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Division and Clinical Resources The growing six‑clinician division is staffed with support from a research coordinator, a nurse coordinator, a dietician, a pharmacist, committed pediatric respiratory therapists, and social work support. The division manages the Mountaintop State Cystic Fibrosis Center—a CF‑Therapeutics Development Network Center—and houses an AASM‑accredited sleep lab and pediatric sleep disorders clinic. WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital The department’s primary to tertiary care site for children, WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, offers close collaboration with pediatric surgical subspecialties and pediatric radiology, and fosters a collegial academic environment for professional growth and high‑quality teaching.
