What You’ll Do Serve as a leader of the practice’s veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and assistants, setting the bar for high‑level veterinary care and embodying the Chewy Vet Care culture. Hold all team members accountable by being available, removing barriers, facilitating change, and providing mentorship and feedback related to performance. Implement policies and procedures, use integrated technology, and deliver consistent, appropriate medical care within given skills. Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures with minimal patient stress and discomfort, including more sophisticated surgeries and complicated case care. Explain examination findings to clients, communicate diagnoses, and present treatment plans. Maintain client/patient records, keeping all logs up to date through established protocols and assisting colleagues with follow‑up and future management. Stay current with new medical information, attend continuing education meetings. Lead, manage, develop, and mentor associate veterinarians regarding individual performance improvements in client happiness, teamwork, medical quality, record keeping, and efficiency. Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to deliver the highest quality care and outstanding client service. Oversee operating, safety, and compliance procedures as required by applicable law and Chewy Vet Care policies. Position may require some travel. What You’ll Need Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) or equivalent. Active State license in good standing, DEA license and other state credentials as required. 5+ years of general medicine and surgery experience; 1–3 years of leadership experience. Preferred: 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines. Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team‑oriented environment. Passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus. Ability to multi‑task and perform well in a fast‑paced, self‑starter environment. Physical Job Requirements Standing or walking up to 80% of each shift. Frequently lift 50–70 pounds using an optional team lift. Occasionally lift >70 pounds using a team lift. Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel. Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this role is $145,000 – $232,500. Salary may be influenced by experience, education, and location. The position is eligible for a 401(k) and new‑hire and annual equity grants.
