Experience a workplace where safety, efficiency, and meaningful personal connections define every day, enriching both our teammates and the communities we serve.Nucor supports its teammates with top-tier benefits like Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability Insurance, 401K and Roth accounts, Profit sharing, Pay-for-performance bonuses, Paid parental leave, Tuition reimbursement, Stock program, Scholarships and more.Basic Job Functions:Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Follow company and OSHA safety proceduresAttend safety meetings and participate in safety programMaintain industrial machinery and equipment- daily inspections, reporting defects or needed repairs to supervisorMoves, assembles, installs, or dismantles machineryOperate forklift and skid steer, manlift, and overhead hoistChange bearings, motors, gearboxes, conveyor belts, sprockets, drive chains, and hydraulic hoses.Minor welding and fabricatingVisual inspection of equipment, identifying repairs and assist with repairsGeneral labor duties that may include but not limited to sweeping, shoveling and general clean-up of any area and/or equipment throughout the yardEffectively communicate over radio with teammates for traffic coordination, production, and safety proceduresWilling to cross-train and assist other teammates as needed.Other duties as assigned by your manager.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED required2 years maintenance experienceBasic torching and welding skillsAbility to operate small mobile equipment such as a forklift, skid steer, etc.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills with attention to detailsExcellent customer service skills, ability to be flexible and display a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.Willing to work Monday to Friday 6am-4pm and Saturdays if business requires.Willing to work outside in all weather conditionsBasic math and computer skillsMust wear all necessary PPE while working or while in the yard.Willing to learn, be adaptable and be self-motivatedPreferences:Hydraulic systems experience and interpreting diagrams/blueprints or willingness to learn these skills.Bilingual preferred- SpanishDetailed Selection Criteria: Complete work history is required to be considered for this position.
