Job Details Domain: Performance and Support Job field / Job profile: Human resources – HR management Job title: Human Resources Manager Employment type: Permanent Professional category: Professional, Engineer & Manager Part time / Full time: Full‑time Reference number: View phone number on click.appcast.io Job Description The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating policies and programs covering the following areas: company policy and procedure relating to employment, employee relations, training, compliance with Federal and State laws, employee services, and any other HR‑related areas. Duties and Responsibilities Develop various sources of manpower for company personnel needs. Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions. Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals. Establish and administer the employment, placement, and transfer procedures to ensure supply of employees to meet personnel requisition requirements. Evaluate skill requirements of internal/external applicants and select the most qualified applicants for presentation to management. Administer recruitment and job posting for internal job opportunities system. Ensure supervisors act fairly in the interviewing process. Coordinate the external marketing of job opportunities and maintain records of all advertising. Establish and maintain satisfactory employee‑management relations. Formulate and administer the company’s relations policies, subject to top management guidance and approval. Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Represent management in administrative law actions such as unemployment hearings, EEOC audits, etc. Investigate any alleged violation of company rules to insure fairness and consistency. Make recommendations and guide the supervisory group on implementation of policies. Maintain records of disciplinary action. Advise management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment. Administer the Employee Assistance Program for employees with drugs, alcohol or marital problems. Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs. Administer the performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the organization. Administer salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization. Conduct wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate. Prepare budget of human resources operations. Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover. But What Else? Candidate Skills & Requirements Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated effective leadership and communication skills. In‑depth knowledge of human resources, including employment, compensation, training employee relations and all State / Federal Labor and Employment Laws. Computer skills: Excel spreadsheets and Word. Competencies Communications Human Resources Development Management Planning Education and/or Experience Five years of human resources management experience. A bachelor’s degree in human resources or business and/or HRCI certification is required. Communication Skills Must have the ability to generate written communication and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow an individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English. ADP or other payroll experience necessary. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Physical Demands Travel 5% of the time to all SAU sites. Annual Salary Commensurate with experience.
