The hours and location you’ll work in as a Plant Maintenance Technician with WM:

• Monday – Friday every week

• Afternoon shift: 3:30 pm to 12:00 am (overtime based on business needs)

Each day, you'll play a key role in keeping our plant running at its best, maintaining everything from balers and conveyor belts to gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. As a Plant Maintenance Mechanic, you'll jump into action when systems fail, using your skills to quickly identify and fix issues, ensuring everything is back up and running safely and efficiently. You'll work with cutting-edge equipment and tackle challenges that require both expertise and determination. Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, you'll help drive the success of our operations, ensuring the plant runs smoothly and safely at all times.

Here’s more of what you’ll do:

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components, including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, and building equipment.

• Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog.

• Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).

• Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and rebuilds.

• Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.

• Multitask and manage multiple priorities with efficiency.

• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.

• Perform work with limited supervision while maintaining high standards of performance.

• Be flexible with your work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to meet operational needs.

• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and ensure all work is completed according to safety procedures.

• Perform repairs in line with Waste Management Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA requirements.

What do you need to be considered for the role of a Plant Maintenance Technician?

• 2 years of relevant work experience 

• Be over 18 years of age.

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Pay: The expected base pay range for this on-site position is $41.09. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.

Non-Exempt Positions

Non-union:

Full-time: Employees will also receive at least 120 hours of paid time off per year, accrued on a payroll period basis and

7 [11, if Corporate employee] paid holidays throughout the calendar year. The Company provides this paid time off to

comply with its obligations to provide paid sick and safe time (“PSST”) under Washington state law and local ordinances.

Part-time: Employees will also receive at least 90 hours of paid time off per year, accrued on a payroll period basis and

7 [11, if corporate employee] paid holidays throughout the calendar year. The Company provides this paid time off to

comply with its obligations to provide paid sick and safe time (“PSST”) under Washington state law and local ordinances.

Full-time: Employees will also receive at least [number of hours from applicable CBA] hours of paid time off per year,

Exempt positions:

Employees will also receive discretionary paid time off, up to 80 hours of paid sick time per year, and 7 [10, if Corporate

employee] paid holidays throughout the calendar year. The Company provides this paid time off to comply with its

obligations to provide paid sick and safe time (“PSST”) under Washington state law and local ordinances. Additionally, the

Company has a leave pay policy that provides for up to 4 weeks of paid leave in a rolling 12-month period for qualifying

leave
