The Bakery Lead is responsible for overseeing bakery production and operational standards within the bakery department. This role ensures adherence to company policies and procedures, maintains product quality and freshness, and optimizes inventory management. The Bakery Lead does not have direct supervisory responsibilities over team members but plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence and supporting overall bakery success.

A valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification is required and must be maintained in good standing. BJ's covers any applicable cost associated and training.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in bakery operations, retail, or food production.
• Strong knowledge of bakery production processes and food safety guidelines.
• Ability to analyze data and make process improvements to optimize efficiency.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Email).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must maintain all training and required certifications.

Job Conditions

• Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
• Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Exposure to temperature variations from ovens, freezers, and refrigerators.
• Potential exposure to cleaning agents and bakery-related allergens.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $25.63.
