Reporting to the Head of People, CSS Americas, this experienced role focuses on field service and industrial relations, union-related matters, employment law compliance across North America, and core People Business Partner responsibilities. Your work will directly influence organizational effectiveness and business outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.What you will doServe as a trusted advisor to people leaders, providing consultation, coaching, guidance, and data-driven insights to improve organizational effectiveness and resultsAlign people strategy with business priorities by helping leaders build capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes that drive performanceAdvise on employee relations, union matters, employment law compliance, performance management, and employee life cycle processes, ensuring consistent and compliant application of policies and collective bargaining agreementsProactively manage complex employee matters, labor relations, workplace investigations, and employment-related risks through clear guidelines and fair, documented resolutionsCollaborate across the People function — including Total Rewards, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development — to deliver integrated solutionsSupport collective bargaining readiness by partnering with Legal, Operations, Finance, and People partners on planning and negotiation preparationSupport high-volume recruiting plans, off-site recruiting events, leadership meetings, and university job fairs as neededUse AI-enabled tools and people analytics to streamline work, improve decisions, identify trends, and enhance the impact of People-related solutionsTravel approximately 25–30% across North America (US and Canada) for union bargaining, leadership meetings, regional office visits, and recruiting eventsThe skills you bringPreferably 15+ years of HR experience; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree and PHR or equivalent certification preferredSeasoned HR Business Partner experience with increasing scope, ideally in a matrixed, geographically dispersed, or high-volume environmentRequired experience in unionized settings, including advising on union matters, applying collective bargaining agreements, and managing labor relations; negotiation experience preferredStrong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and policies; Canadian employment law experience preferredProven ability to act as a trusted advisor on people, organizational, employee relations, and compliance mattersExcellent communication, influencing, coaching, consulting, and facilitation skillsStrategic and critical thinking with the ability to connect business challenges to people strategy and workforce planningAnalytical, metrics-driven approach with a proactive mindset for problem-solving and process improvementAI-agile mindset, with experience adopting AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity and generate insightsAbility to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain composed in a fast-paced, ambiguous environmentBilingual (French and English) experience preferredWhat happens once you apply?Click Here to find all you need to know about what our typical hiring process looks like.Ericsson uses a merit-based hiring approach that values people with different experiences, perspectives and skillsets. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.Your TimeYour work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date.
