Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Role Overview A Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs routine and moderately complex laboratory tests across various diagnostic areas, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and toxicology. They analyze specimens, ensure accuracy of results, operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, and maintain quality control protocols. The role involves preparing specimens, adhering to regulatory standards, and effectively communicating findings to healthcare professionals. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic tests and prepare specimens. Maintain equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions. Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines. Document test results and quality control measures. Support inventory management and reagent preparation. Assist in investigating transfusion reactions and support laboratory operations. Communicate clearly with healthcare staff and ensure compliance with standards. Qualifications & Skills At least one year of recent MLT experience. Valid license as per state requirements. Preferred certifications: ASCP or equivalent, BLS. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English, PC skills, and physical ability to handle equipment and specimens. Ability to work under pressure and maintain concentration.
