- Perform Echocardiograms: Conduct diagnostic echocardiograms (adult and pediatric) to assess heart function, detect abnormalities, and support physician diagnoses.
- Patient Care: Explain procedures to patients, ensure their comfort, and position them correctly for optimal imaging results.
- Quality Imaging: Capture clear, accurate echocardiogram images in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare providers to interpret diagnostic results and assist in the development of treatment plans.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with information on echocardiogram procedures and assist with questions related to their care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of echocardiogram results, patient data, and imaging reports for physician review and future reference.
- Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent from an accredited Cardiovascular or Echocardiography program.
- Certification: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer) certification required. Other certifications (e.g., BLS ) are a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as an Echocardiogram Technologist is preferred, but recent graduates with the appropriate certification are also encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to move patients and operate ultrasound equipment for extended periods of time.
