Labor and Employment Attorney

A growing national law firm focused exclusively on labor and employment law is seeking a mid-to-senior level Employment Litigation Associate to join its New York City office, located in a brand-new space! The firm has grown organically out of its Atlanta headquarters rather than through mergers or acquisitions, and each office maintains a close, collaborative connection to the firm as a whole rather than operating as a standalone satellite. Associates benefit from direct access to firm leadership, a genuinely low-turnover culture, and a structured path to partnership, with formal eligibility beginning at the 7th year. About the Role: This position offers a mix of litigation and counseling work defending employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and wrongful termination matters. The firm is also open to candidates with a broader commercial litigation background who are interested in building out an employment practice. Responsibilities: Litigating cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employment-related claims Representing employers in court, before administrative agencies, and in mediations and arbitrations Advising clients on compliance, workplace policies, and risk management Collaborating with partners on litigation strategy, motion drafting, depositions, and trial preparation Building toward long-term client relationships within a firm known for strong attorney tenure Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials Meaningful litigation experience (employment litigation background preferred; strong commercial litigators also considered) Admission to the New York Bar (or ability to obtain) Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters Team-oriented mindset and commitment to client service Required Skills: Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters Team-oriented mindset and commitment to client service Preferred Skills: Employment litigation experience, or a strong general commercial litigation background with interest in transitioning into employment work Pay range and compensation package: Competitive compensation Hybrid Flexibility No hard billable hour requirement; 1,800 hours to hit bonus (some associates bill 1600) Clear, formalized path to partnership starting at the 7th year Collaborative, close-knit culture across all offices, despite the firm's growth Office located directly on the water at Battery Park #J-18808-Ljbffr
