Mechatronics Engineer - EXE Production First Line Support 2nd Shift

The First Line Support (FLS) Production Engineer is responsible for providing first‑line troubleshooting support to ensure uninterrupted production output. This role uses hands‑on troubleshooting with structured problem‑solving methodologies to address complex technical challenges, escalates issues when necessary, and drives continuous improvement through documentation, analysis, and collaboration. The First Line Support Production Engineer also supports product SPC (Statistical Process Control), manages disturbance notifications, and works closely with quality teams to maintain and improve material review processes, ensuring optimal product flow and minimal disruptions. This position will be Second shift schedule: Monday‑Friday 2:30pm‑11:30pm Core Responsibilities First‑Line Troubleshooting & Problem‑Solving Spends 75% of time in the Cleanroom supporting production processes and leading troubleshooting actions Provide real‑time troubleshooting support for production issues to minimize downtime and optimize output. Capture learnings from troubleshooting efforts and use them to write & enhance OCAPs (Out of Control Action Plans). Execute ‘As New’ based on input and documentation from D&E/Module PE to ensure product quality meets defined standards. Escalation Management & Technical Documentation Create ETPs (Engineering Test Plans), task lists, and DOs (Disturbance Orders) related to escalation management, tooling maintenance, and troubleshooting. Document all disturbances and resolutions accurately for future learning. Escalate issues to senior FLS when resolution cannot be achieved independently. Drive structured problem resolution through detailed investigation of recurring issues. SPC Tracking Support and maintain SPC tracking for tooling and products, ensuring data‑driven process control. Disturbance Notification Analysis, Material Notifications & Process Improvement Perform pre‑DRB activities as directed by Technical Lead or equivalent. Support, maintain, and execute by participation in the DRB/MRB (Disturbance Review Board/Material Review Board) process. Create and manage E‑Scraps for scrap parts to ensure traceability and accountability. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Factory Engineering Representation & Cross‑Team Collaboration Perform ‘cherry picks’ to select and evaluate specific parts for quality and process validation. Decision making and creation of ODR (Operation Deviation Report) for non‑structural issue Participate and support in key relevant meetings, and ensuring engineering alignment with production and cross‑sectoral teams. Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering with 2+ years of experience in a production engineering environment Master’s Degree in Mechanical, electrical or Mechatronics engineering and prior internship experience within a production environment Preferred Skills & Technical Competencies Ability to pick up structured problem‑solving methodologies. Exposure to SPC and data‑driven process control. Ability to document technical issues and resolutions clearly. Preferred exposure to mechatronic systems combining mechanics, electronics, and control systems with troubleshooting experience. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Analyze MATLAB runs and plot data from database. Exposure in escalation management and technical documentation. Effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Experience with ASML Twinscan machine is a plus. Occasional movement across campus and lifting up to 35 lbs. Moderate temperature and noise levels. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. The employee is occasionally required to move around the campus. Can learn and apply new information or skills. Additional Responsibilities There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
