Systems Administrator

Systems AdministratorClient is seeking a Systems Administrator to support and maintain enterprise technology environments, including Windows endpoints, Microsoft Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Unix/Linux-based systems. This role focuses on endpoint administration, troubleshooting, device management, and daily operational support for users across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience supporting enterprise environments, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with IT staff and vendors to resolve complex issues.Core Responsibilities• Assist in server operations and resolve customer issues within Unix/Linux-based environments. • Administer and support Microsoft Intune, including device management, software deployment, configuration, compliance, and inventory management. • Manage Windows patching and Update Rings, including troubleshooting devices that are not successfully receiving updates. • Provide day-to-day administration and troubleshooting of the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment using Nerdio. • Support thin-client devices operating within the virtual desktop environment. • Troubleshoot Windows endpoint, application, device, connectivity, and performance issues. • Support enterprise printing services, including printer, driver, queue, and connectivity issues. • Assist with phone system administration, including routine user, device, and configuration requests. • Provide technical assistance to the Help Desk and help resolve complex user technology issues. • Maintain accurate endpoint inventory and technical documentation. • Document system changes, recurring issues, and work performed. • Assist with onboarding new users and providing technology setup support. • Collaborate with IT staff and vendors when escalation or specialized expertise is required.Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies• 3+ years of experience in systems administration, endpoint administration, desktop engineering, or a comparable technical support role. • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Windows endpoints. • Experience with Microsoft Intune or a comparable enterprise endpoint management platform. • Experience with software deployment, patching, and Windows update management. • Strong Windows troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Experience supporting users in an enterprise environment. • Working knowledge of Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID. • General understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi. • Ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and determine when escalation is appropriate. • Strong communication and documentation skills.Preferred Skills or Experience• Experience with Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). • Experience with Nerdio Manager. • Experience supporting thin-client devices. • Advanced Microsoft Intune administration experience. • Experience supporting enterprise printer environments or phone systems. • Experience working in higher education environments. • Interest in or experience with automation tools and process automation.Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.Nesco Resource provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
