System Tester

OverviewSCCI is seeking a System Tester to join our team and serve as a Scrum Team Embedded Tester. In this position you will support IV&V testing to ensure conformance of software functionality prior to weapons system application release to the fleet. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.SCCI offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability benefits, 401k with Company Match, time off consisting of 2 weeks of paid vacation, 48 hours of sick/personal leave, and 11 paid Holidays.Responsibilities:Assess requirements and develop test procedures for assigned Scrum Team’s software productsProvide real-time documentation of critical thinking/test methodology to ensure a valid test is performed to meet requirement specificationsTest and validate Gun Computer System (GCS) Mark (MK) 160 Gun Weapons System (GWS) developer builds, progressing from iterative development builds to the final production buildCollaborate with Software Engineers in an Agile environment to support the development of high-quality software artifactsRequired Skills and Experience:Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret Security ClearanceMust have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experience, such as direct hands-on experience with a particular system applicationThree (3) years of experience testing a software intensive DoD weapon system; Experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test executionProven problem solving, written and oral communication skills and the ability to:Work effectively in a fast-paced, team environmentWork in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environmentWork independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnelWork with others to meet established goals and program scheduledThe ability to create and perform both manual and automated testingExperience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecyclePreferred Skills and Experience: Experience working in any of the Linux and Unix environmentsExperience with any of the following: C, C++, Java, Ada programming languageExperience supporting Department of Defense (or related) programsExperience with the DoD acquisition lifecycleSCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of Employees and their families.
