Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Assessments

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to become a part of our team, focusing on medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Join us in conducting thorough eye examinations for Veterans in a fulfilling role that emphasizes assessments without treatment responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
• Examine and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online platform.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Carefully document examination results and complete necessary VA forms.

Note: This position does not involve treatment or prescribing medications. Disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) , not by the provider.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week
• Location: In-person role
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools

Requirements:

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
• Experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Comfortable utilizing technology for record review and documentation.
