Job Summary Summary The Clinical Research Coordinator II will support research and communications activities within RecoveryWorks. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and program team, the coordinator will play a central role in a longitudinal study evaluating RecoveryWorks while also supporting the program’s communications and outreach efforts. Research responsibilities will include participant recruitment, enrollment, retention, and longitudinal follow-up; regulatory coordination with the Institutional Review Board (IRB); study data management and quality assurance; and support for project administration and finances. Communications responsibilities will include maintaining the RecoveryWorks website, developing and scheduling social media content, and supporting dissemination of program activities and research findings to a broad audience. The coordinator will join an established multidisciplinary team of faculty and research staff at Massachusetts General Hospital and will receive training and ongoing mentorship across all aspects of the role. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable balancing research coordination with digital communications responsibilities. Funding for this position is currently secured through the first one to two years, with continuation funding anticipated but not guaranteed. Qualifications The Clinical Research Coordinator II will support a longitudinal evaluation of the RecoveryWorks program and will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of day‑to‑day study operations under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Coordinate participant enrollment, informed consent, and longitudinal follow‑up assessments. Maintain regular communication with study participants to maximize retention and completion of follow‑up visits. Collect, enter, verify, and manage study data using REDCap and other research databases while ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance. Maintain study records, regulatory binders, and essential study documentation. Prepare and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, amendments, continuing reviews, and other regulatory documents. Assist with quality assurance and quality control procedures, including routine data validation and protocol compliance monitoring. Schedule study visits, administer study questionnaires, document research procedures, and maintain accurate study records. Assist with study budgets, purchasing, participant payments, and other project administrative activities. Prepare study reports, recruitment summaries, and progress updates for the investigative team. Conduct literature searches and assist with preparation of presentations, manuscripts, and other dissemination activities. Work collaboratively with investigators, research staff, and collaborators to ensure efficient study operations. Maintaining and updating the RecoveryWorks website using the program’s content management system. Developing, scheduling, and publishing content across RecoveryWorks social media platforms. Creating engaging digital content to communicate research findings, educational resources, program updates, and events to diverse audiences. Monitoring website and social media analytics and assisting with strategies to increase engagement and program visibility. Ensuring that website and social media content is accurate, current, and aligned with Massachusetts General Hospital branding and communication guidelines. Education Bachelor’s degree in related field required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Experience Minimum of 1-2 years of directly related clinical research work experience required Work Location and Flexibility This position will be primarily remote, with most work performed from home. However, the coordinator will occasionally need to be onsite at Massachusetts General Hospital for study and program activities and therefore must be based within reasonable commuting distance of Boston. Office space at Massachusetts General Hospital will also be available for those who prefer to work onsite regularly or on an as‑needed basis. Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Abilities Exceptional organizational skills and careful attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team. Experience coordinating human subjects research or strong interest in research. Familiarity with REDCap, Microsoft Office, and research data management practices. Working knowledge of IRB processes, and research regulatory requirements, or willingness to learn. Experience managing websites using a content management system (e.g., WordPress or similar) is preferred. Experience creating and managing content for social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X) is preferred. Basic graphic design, video editing, or digital content creation skills (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Suite) are desirable but not required. Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with research participants, collaborators, and community stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues proactively.
