Job Title: Data Manager (Job Code: DS005) – Preferred locations: Minneapolis, MN; Davidson, NC; Tyler, TX. Work arrangement: Monday to Thursday onsite, Friday flexible. Work location: 4 days per week in office. Job Summary Lead a diverse team of data engineers and analysts supporting data science, advanced analytics, and self‑service teams. Provide technical thought leadership while actively coding as needed. Drive the development of data pipelines, marts, and analytics capabilities on Google Cloud Platform and AWS. Responsibilities Lead a technical team to provide easily accessible data in the Google Cloud Platform based Trane Data Cloud (TDC) to the team and broader business. Guide the team on Looker, semantic layers, and enterprise data models as the organization transitions to a new technical approach. Drive cloud‑based data pipeline development, data mart creation, and self‑service analytics support. Partner with enterprise IT to ensure alignment with overall data architecture and obtain production approvals. Engage with business leaders to prioritize and oversee data product development from requirements gathering to production deployment. Identify, assess, and integrate new data sources to support self‑service and advanced analytics. Lead data quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with advanced analytics/visualization and decision science teams to enhance Tableau dashboards and machine‑learning or AI models. Develop expertise in residential data, understanding source systems and residential attributes needed for meaningful analysis. Track metrics, identify issues, and drive continuous improvement. Coach and mentor team members to grow their technical and professional skills. Qualifications BS/BA in computer science, MIS, analytics, engineering, or related field. 7+ years of experience in technical roles. 3+ years managing or leading a technical team. Knowledge of distributed computing or relational data systems such as Oracle. Advanced SQL and Python skills. Experience with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform and AWS. Proficiency with Git or similar version control tools and collaborative coding. Familiarity with Dataiku and Tableau preferred. Knowledge of ETL design for efficient data movement.
