Role Description The Head Volleyball Coach is a full-time, on-site role based at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. This role is responsible for designing and leading volleyball training sessions, developing seasonal and long-term athlete development plans, and providing technical and tactical instruction to student-athletes. The coach oversees practice planning, game preparation, and in-competition coaching, while fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and safe team environment. Daily responsibilities include evaluating athlete performance, delivering constructive feedback, coordinating with academic and support staff, and mentoring athletes on sportsmanship, leadership, and personal development. The Head Volleyball Coach also assists with recruitment, camp and clinic delivery, and represents IMG Academy at events and within the broader volleyball community. Qualifications Strong volleyball-specific expertise, including advanced knowledge of skill development, game strategy, and current best practices in the sport. Demonstrated coaching experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, and mentor athletes across varying age groups and skill levels. Proficiency in planning and delivering structured training programs, including strength, conditioning, and performance-focused drills. Effective communication skills for engaging athletes, families, colleagues, and stakeholders in a clear, respectful, and collaborative manner. Background in education or athlete development, with an understanding of balancing academic and athletic commitments. Experience working in high-performance or competitive sports environments; prior collegiate, club, or professional coaching experience preferred. Ability to manage team operations, including scheduling, equipment oversight, and compliance with organizational and league standards. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education, Sports Management, Exercise Science, or similar) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
