Buyer Associate

Ferguson Industrial is hiring a Buyer Associate to provide procurement expertise and customer service functions on site with a team at our customer location in Madisonville, KY. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly motivated, optimistic about new challenges, and thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment. This individual will effectively lead and drive process improvements while aligning with the Company’s strategic vision. Responsibilities Perform a range of procurement activities Monitor inventory and manage product shortages Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors and internal departments, acting as point of contact for queries. Lead negotiations of contracts, including terms and volume discounts Draft procurement reports, analyze inventory and project utilization, and recommend useful insights. Expedite orders Reconcile payable discrepancies Manage freight billing and audit processes Research specifications of products not clearly identified Enter and edit purchase orders and blanket order releases Ensure product file integrity Maintain good customer and supplier relations Resolve customer problems Qualifications Previous experience in a buyer role preferred Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience preferred Proven ability to follow documented procedures Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) products is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office software Detail oriented and proven organization skills with a high level of accuracy Strong customer service skills and problem‑solving proficiency Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills Benefits Ferguson cares for its associates’ well‑being. Pay Range $15.00 – $26.13 per hour. This role is bonus or incentive plan eligible. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
