Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact as you support students with visual impairments for the 2026-2027 school year! This full-time contract opportunity spans from August 11, 2026, to May 20, 2027, offering you the chance to deliver essential educational services weekday mornings and afternoons from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Work with a manageable caseload and help shape inclusive learning environments across the district—whether onsite or virtually.
What you'll bring:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or applicable state licensure
- Previous experience or strong knowledge in providing instruction to students with visual impairments in school settings
- Familiarity with accommodations and modifications under IEP/504 plans
- Skills collaborating with general education and special education teachers to foster student success
- Comfort with technology for both on-campus and remote instruction
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Key responsibilities:
- Instruct students with visual impairments, delivering individualized and group lessons tailored to unique learning needs
- Develop and implement instructional adaptations, materials, and accessible resources
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff to integrate supports and accommodations
- Attend meetings, participate in IEP/504 planning, and provide consultative support to colleagues
- Track student progress, maintain required documentation, and communicate regularly with families
- Offer guidance on assistive technology and orientation/mobility services
