Position Overview The Area Manager (ARM) position oversees a sub‑section of a region. The ARM will manage multiple contracts, clients, projects and Account Managers, and on occasion, could directly manage job order or project‑level tasks at any client. Responsibilities Client Administration – maintain client relationships at the Director level and above, hold quarterly check‑in meetings to evaluate performance, pipeline and future opportunities. New Client Start‑up Manager – assist the Regional Director and lead the assigned Account Manager through the new client start‑up process. Coordinate the start‑up schedule and provide quality control on all deliverables (D&I documents, Gordian Cloud forms/reports, pre‑bid presentations, etc.). Contract Administration – ensure all areas of service and deliverables as detailed in Gordian's contract are being met; track contract and option expirations and coordinate with clients and Gordian legal on renewals. Employee Management – manage all Account Management and support staff within the territory, including tools such as MyFortive, Expensify, Kronos, etc.; assist the RD in developing performance goals for each team member; all new Area Managers participate in Gordian's LEAD program unless excused by HR. Budget Development & Management – assist the RD in developing the annual budget and provide analysis of historical client volume, current pipeline and future client budgets. Financial Forecasting – review and follow standard work for mid‑month, quarterly and yearly forecasting; delegate data collection to AMs and JOC Coordinator; provide comments and backup information to the RD on any budget variants. Coordination with Marketing, Product & Sales – assist marketing with access to clients for case‑studies, collateral or award submissions; work with the RD to identify upsell/cross‑sell opportunities; coordinate introduction meetings between the sales team and client; assist product and other departments with Voice of Customer requests. Gordian Cloud Migration Manager – oversee operations team through all Gordian Cloud migrations, ensuring proper procedures, standards and best practices; provide weekly and monthly progress reporting to the RD and other stakeholders; elevate issues and concerns to the appropriate department. Contractor Outreach – assist the outreach team with reaching the contractor community; help clients report participation in their Job Order Contracts; deliver JOC 101 presentations semi‑annually; coordinate with JOC Coordinator on material creation and distribution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. Strong background in construction with 7 years’ experience in the design and/or construction field. Experience managing teams of three or more, preferably with remote‑based teams. Highly motivated, results‑driven and organized to manage multiple contracts and people, and able to work independently. Experience identifying client or staffing issues and creating effective solutions, and knowing when to elevate. Experience in Account Management/Customer Success; knowledge of key concepts including JOC process, plans, deliverables, scope and tasks. Working knowledge of the preparation and process of construction bid documents; knowledge of the process of new client start‑ups (preferred). Confident communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of internal and external organizations. Sound decision making, analytical and organizational skills in a fast‑paced environment; a consultative approach to managing complex client relationships. A valid US driver's license and the ability to travel within the assigned territory up to 30% of the time. Compensation & Benefits National salary range: $79,700 – $147,900. This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package. Base pay may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
