Patient Service Auditor, Clinic Operations

The School of Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo is seeking applications for a Patient Service Auditor.

• Review and process patient discharges and reinstatement requests in accordance with School of Dental Medicine policies and established eligibility criteria.
• Monitor and audit clinical documentation, EHR records, and billing practices across all clinical departments; facilitate provider review sessions and corrective actions to ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, privacy, operational, and institutional requirements.
• Conduct ongoing reviews of patient records to assess eligibility, treatment needs, and appropriateness for care within the School of Dental Medicine's clinical education programs.
• Serve as a back-up and support patient advocacy initiatives and assist in the resolution of patient concerns and complaints.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute quality assurance, compliance, and variance reports to clinical leadership and the quality assurance and compliance teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of clinical operations.

Work Hours:
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year of relevant experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and ability to utilize various computer programs
• Excellent communication skills, experience working with diverse populations, and attention to detail
• Prior role with patient/customer facing interaction

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher
• Dental office experience
• Demonstrated comfort and proficiency in utilizing various technological tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual communication platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or equivalent
• At least three years of experience
