Description:

The Dishwasher plays a key support role in the overall success of kitchen and service operations by ensuring all flatware, glassware, and kitchen equipment are properly washed, sanitized, and returned to service in a timely manner. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized dishwashing area that meets company standards and all applicable health department and sanitation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store all flatware, glassware, and kitchen equipment according to company standards and local health department requirements
• Ensure the dishwashing station, equipment, and surrounding areas remain clean and organized. 
• Handle all dishes, glassware, and equipment carefully and responsibly to prevent breakage and support inventory control.  
• Remove trash and recyclables throughout the shifts as needed and maintain clean exterior trash and disposal areas
• Transport dish racks, containers, supplies, and other kitchen materials throughout the facility as needed to support operations
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and food handling procedures consistently. 
• Operate dishwashing, sanitizing, and cleaning equipment safely and according to company procedures
• Assist with prep work, deep cleaning projects, or additional kitchen tasks as assigned to support overall operations
• Communicate clearly and effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure timely return of clean dishes during service

Qualifications

• Demonstrated reliable work history. 
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Availability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Ability to stand for the duration of assigned shifts

Physical Requirements

• Ability to independently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and assist with moving items weighing up to 85 pounds
• Ability to remain standing and active for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts
• Ability to move throughout all kitchen, storage, receiving, and disposal areas of the facility
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds
• Ability to frequently handle dish racks, kitchen equipment, trash containers, cleaning supplies, and other operational materials
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures
• Ability to safely operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment
