Job Title: IT Observability & Dynatrace Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking an analytical, technical, and proactive IT Observability & Dynatrace Engineer to administer, support, and optimize our enterprise monitoring and observability platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day Dynatrace product operations, user access governance, consumption tracking, dashboard development, application onboarding, and cross-platform telemetry correlation across complex cloud and on-premise environments.

This is a core infrastructure engineering position for a specialist who bridges application performance monitoring (APM) and operational incident response. You will collaborate with cloud, network, and application development teams to eliminate alert noise, configure automated workflows, deploy OneAgents, and ensure high-availability monitoring for business-critical services. Key Responsibilities
Dynatrace Product Operations & Governance
• Tenant Administration: Perform daily health checks of the Dynatrace SaaS tenant, ActiveGates, extensions, and integrations; administer user access, RBAC, management zones, and API token governance.
• Consumption & Cost Management: Monitor Dynatrace licensing consumption, identify telemetry growth anomalies, and recommend optimizations that maintain rigorous monitoring coverage.
• Deployment & Configuration: Deploy and support OneAgent, Smartscape, Synthetic monitoring, and Real User Monitoring (RUM); build executive dashboards, automated workflows, and KPIs aligned to business outcomes.
• Vendor & Incident Management: Manage vendor escalations with Dynatrace support; document investigations, corrective actions, and known gaps within ITSM records (ServiceNow).

Application Onboarding & Observability
• Onboarding Support: Lead the onboarding of new enterprise applications into Dynatrace, validating monitoring requirements, acceptance criteria, and instrumentation design.
• Alert Quality & Tuning: Review and refine alerting rules to eliminate duplicate, noisy, or unactionable notifications; optimize problem detection and automated routing to appropriate resolver groups.
• Root Cause Analysis: Drive Application Performance Monitoring (APM) initiatives, performing anomaly detection and advanced root cause analysis using metrics, logs, traces, and topology.

Cloud, Network & Cross-Platform Integration
• Azure & Infrastructure Monitoring: Administer and support approved Dynatrace monitoring for Azure-hosted applications, infrastructure, and platform services.
• Ecosystem Integration: Integrate Dynatrace with network, cloud, infrastructure, and ITSM monitoring tools to correlate telemetry across multi-tier architectural layers.
• Automation & Scripting: Leverage scripting and automation to improve configuration repeatability, reporting accuracy, and operational support efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional work experience).
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise observability platforms, specifically focusing on Dynatrace administration and APM.
• Technical Mastery:
oProven experience administering Dynatrace SaaS, ActiveGates, OneAgents, and extensions in enterprise environments.
oStrong background in cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure) and infrastructure monitoring.
oPractical experience with incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across complex distributed architectures.
oFamiliarity with ITSM ticketing and incident management workflows (specifically ServiceNow).
• Core Competencies: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical telemetry insights into business impact; strong automation and DevOps mindset.

Preferred Attributes
• Active Dynatrace Associate (or higher) certification.
• Relevant ITIL framework certifications or cloud engineering credentials.
• Familiarity with multi-tool observability ecosystems and network performance flow tools.
