We are seeking an experienced and passionate APP Medical Director to drive clinical excellence, empower our advanced practice providers, and shape the future of our clinical operations. The ACSU APP Medical Director will lead development and performance improvement for all NPs and PAs within the ACSU. Duties and Responsibilities Assess patients for changes in condition and institute appropriate interventions, including initiation of necessary emergency care. Perform procedures including, but not limited to, chest tubes, arterial catheters, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, airway management, and defibrillation. Participate and assist with the pre-, peri-, and postoperative management of cardiac transplant, VAD, MCS, and ECMO patients. Perform and participate in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research. Schedule Details The shifts will include nights and weekends, as well as holiday rotation. 5 PM to 5 AM (night) 14 (12‑hour) shifts required per month Experience and Requirements Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing with Acute Care Certification (Required) Experience in a tertiary CVICU Experience with heart and lung transplant patients, LVADs, circulatory assist devices (ECMO, impellas, IABP), CABG’s (highly preferred) Board Certification through NCCPA, ANCC or AACN BLS, ACLS, CALS, FCCS certifications or eligible Knowledge and Skills Required Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
