What You’ll Do You’ll be a key member of our team, preparing accurate, competitive estimates that help secure exciting commercial and municipal projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents Performing electrical quantity takeoffs Developing detailed labor and material estimates Soliciting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor pricing Preparing complete bid packages and proposals Attending site visits and pre-bid meetings Identifying project risks and value-engineering opportunities Working closely with Project Managers through project handoff Assisting with change orders and project budgeting Building strong relationships with customers, vendors, engineers, and general contractors What You’ll Bring Required 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction, lighting, low voltage, fire alarm, security systems, or related construction trades Ability to read blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction practices Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Outlook & Word) Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines OSHA 30 and SST certifications (or ability to maintain required certifications) Preferred Construction Management or Engineering degree Experience with commercial electrical construction and lighting projects Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes Experience using estimating software Design-Build or Design-Assist experience Why Estimators Choose Candela Systems We know talented estimators have options.
