JOB SUMMARY:

The Zero Suicide Clinical & Training Coordinator serves as the training and clinical lead for the Zero Suicide initiative, coordinating day-to-day implementation activities across all participating programs. Under the oversight of VP of Whole Health Strategic Initiatives, the Clinical & Training Coordinator manages all Zero Suicide training activities, including scheduling, delivery, tracking, and evaluation of training across ICL's workforce. The Clinical & Training Coordinator coordinates universal suicide screening efforts, standardizes suicide care pathways, oversees safety planning and lethal means counseling implementation, coordinates evidence-based treatment implementation, monitors fidelity, and provides direct consultation to program staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Schedule and deliver safeTALK foundational training sessions for all ICL staff in participating programs, using ICL's internal trainer certification.
2. Embed Zero Suicide content into new employee orientation and annual refresher training cycles. Develop or adapt training materials for cultural and linguistic accessibility.
3. Coordinate AMSR, Safety Planning, and CALM training for clinical staff, including logistics, materials, and participant tracking.
4. Oversee implementation of collaborative safety planning (Stanley-Brown model) and Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) across all programs.
5. Coordinate external training engagements (CAMS, CBT-SP) with contracted consultants and ensure follow-up consultation is completed.
6. Coordinate fidelity monitoring of evidence-based treatments (CBT-SP, CAMS, DBT skills), including conducting chart reviews and providing clinical consultation.
7. Develop and deliver supervisor-focused training on Zero Suicide reinforcement, clinical oversight, and supportive supervision for suicide-related work.
8. Track all training completion through ICL's Learning Management System (LMS) and maintain the Training Completion and Competency Tracking Log.
9. Monitor training impact through post-training surveys, supervision feedback, and Workforce Survey results.
10. Develop, document, and disseminate the standardized suicide care pathway, including policies, protocols, clinical workflows, and role-specific guidance.
11. Coordinate veteran-specific suicide prevention strategies in ICL's transitional shelter programs, including liaison with VA medical centers and the Veterans Crisis Line.
12. Participate in the Zero Suicide Academy and Community of Practice.
13. Serve as a member of the Steering Council and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
14. Produce quarterly training reports for the Steering Council.
15. Work closely with other administrative departments such as HR and IT to support staff training and development initiatives.
16. Visit program sites to support trainings, conduct research, or support staff.
17. Perform other related duties that may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Master's degree in social work (MSW), psychology, counseling, or a related clinical discipline; LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent New York State clinical license required.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in behavioral health settings serving individuals with serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, and suicide risk.
• Certified safeTALK trainer or willingness to complete certification within 6 months of hire.
• Training in or willingness to be trained in CBT-SP, CAMS, and/or DBT.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
• Strong communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience with EHR-based clinical workflow design and quality improvement preferred.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems and training tracking tools
• Cultural competence and experience working with diverse, underserved populations.
