Pay From: $28 per hour

MUST: The Emergency Medical Technician must have experience with:

• EMT license in the State of Virginia
• Very strong IV skills
• BLS and CPR certification

DUTIES:

• This position administers infusion nursing care to patients in an office setting
• Infusions are performed in accordance with the physician's orders and under the direction and supervision of the physician
• The Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for implementing the nursing process in accordance with the professional practice and office policy
• The EMT will provide quality care to all patients; understands and adheres to established company policies and regulatory procedures
• Process infusion orders, notifies physician of patient needs and changes in condition promptly
• Determines the amount and type of nursing needed by each individual patient
• Regularly re-evaluates the needs of the patient
• Counsels with the patient, family, significant others on nursing, teaching and related needs
• Inserts intravenous cannulas, administers prescribed intravenous solutions and medications
• Monitors and maintains infusion sites and systems
• Evaluates response to prescribed therapy
• Prepares clinical records and progress notes for each patient visit in a timely manner
• Participated in team huddles to assure that important information is conveyed to the other members of the office team
