Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (7P–7A)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving patients of all ages, including post-operative orthopedic and total joint populations
• Maintain a 1:4 patient ratio while applying critical thinking skills and decisive judgment with minimal supervision
• Document and manage patient care using the Meditech EHR system
• Fulfill weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend / as needed) and respond to call requirements as needed
• Float as needed, which may include travel within a 25-mile radius of the facility

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure valid in the state of Virginia (or compact eligibility)
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate clinical action
• Must consent to random drug screening and complete a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form prior to and during assignment
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-operative orthopedic patients, including total joint procedures
• Familiarity with Meditech EHR platform
• Experience working in an accredited acute-care hospital environment
