Applied Scientist II, Prime Video - Personalization and Discovery Science

Overview Prime Video is a streaming service that offers a wide range of movies, series, documentaries, and live sports. The technology team builds the user experience, product design, and underlying systems that power the service across thousands of devices. Key Responsibilities Develop ML models for recommendation and search systems using deep learning, online learning, and optimization methods. Collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and product managers to expand product insights, design experiments, and prioritize high‑impact projects. Stay current with advances in machine learning and related technologies. Publish research findings in top conferences and journals. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of experience building models for business applications. PhD or Master’s degree with at least 4 years of experience in computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning, or a related field. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or equivalent. Strong background in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, or high‑performance computing. Preferred Qualifications Experience using Unix/Linux operating systems. Professional software development experience.
