McKeever Price Chopper is looking for a motivated and dependable Assistant Deli Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our deli department. If you’re passionate about food, customer service, and team development, this role offers a great opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Position Overview:

As Assistant Deli Manager, you will work closely with the Deli Manager to lead deli associates, ensure high food quality, and maintain cleanliness and food safety standards. You’ll play a key role in customer satisfaction by delivering fresh, delicious food with friendly service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising deli staff and ensuring efficient daily operations
• Prepare and serve hot and cold deli foods, including sandwiches, salads, and rotisserie items
• Monitor product rotation, inventory levels, and stock ordering
• Ensure all deli areas meet company food safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards
• Train and coach deli associates on food prep, equipment use, and customer service
• Assist in merchandising deli displays and executing promotions
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
• Fill in for the Deli Manager during absences or peak times

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience in food service, deli, or kitchen environment preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for long periods (4–8 hours per shift)
• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (cutting, lifting, reaching)
• Work in warm and cold environments (kitchen and cooler)
• Comfortable with food prep equipment (slicers, ovens, scales)
