About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Charleston, South Carolina, 29406!

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: - 36 months RN experience, with at least one year in an ICU - One previous successful travel nursing assignment, preferably in a facility that uses specific documentation systems - Ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients - Comfort in managing patients on ventilators - Proficient in reading telemetry strips - Advanced skills in CRRT and advanced hemodynamics Description: The traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. The traveler is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with staff. The unit has a total of 28 beds with patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3. RNs staff the unit, and the equipment includes mobile phones for each care team member and mobile computer workstations on wheels. Documentation will be managed through a specific system. Scheduling requirements include 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, which must include every other weekend. Travelers are the first to float, and they could be sent to other units to care for patients. Bedside shift report is the method of patient handoff. Preferred qualifications include experience with post-op CABG patients, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics. Additional neuro experience, such as working with EVDs and induced hypothermia, is desired. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and advanced certifications are preferred. Staff members cite supportive management, teamwork, and an excellent work-life balance as top reasons to join the unit. Travelers with an interest in neuro or cardiovascular ICU nursing will be trained in those areas. This unit has a unique offering among national programs.
