Workman's Travel Center in Lowell is looking for a line cook to join our team! The line cook will staff our dine-in restaurant for first and second shift. This position will work an average of 32-36 hours weekly, with opportunities to pick up extra shifts. The cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. The cook is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud.

Job duties include maintaining a customer focus while performing all duties, preparing or directing preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems, complying with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards, observing proper food preparation and handling techniques, operating equipment, reporting necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor, correctly preparing all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders, planning food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved, apportioning food for serving, keeping work area neat and clean at all times, maintaining daily production records, completing food temperature checks before service, and performing other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills include ServSafe certification, prior experience in a food service related position preferred, high school diploma or GED preferred, customer focused, collaboration skills, stress management/composure, ability to operate industrial equipment, bend, squat, stoop, and carry loads up to 50lbs, requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written instructions and procedures, willingness to work in an environment with heat, steam, fire, and noise.
