Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for proactively maintaining operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive / predictive maintenance.ResponsibilitiesEnsure operation of machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment by completing required repairs on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctionsPerform preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery and clean equipment and remove debris to improve efficiencyComplete routine preventative maintenance tasks to keep equipment in standard operating conditionProcess necessary documentation regarding procedures performedControl downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring complianceHave the ability to determine the effectiveness of preventive maintenance routines and recommend improvements and changesDemonstrated ability to perform mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in mechanical maintenance work assignmentsLocate sources of problems by observing electrical/mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instrumentsRemove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of partsDetermine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsConserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsAssists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansionsEnsures all maintenance and repair activities follow OSHA, Federal, Local and plant safety standardsInvestigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or G.E.D.5 years' Experience in Industrial Plant Maintenance / Preventative Maintenance ProceduresTechnical understanding, zeal and ability to deal with uncertaintyBasic understanding of Safety proceduresExperience with Power ToolsCritical decision-making abilityFlexibility and adaptability and ability to focus and pay attention to detailExperience in Industrial Manufacturing a plus#INDQSRCompany BenefitsWhat You'll Get From UsBenefitsWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
