Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) MUSC Mullins Nursing Center - FT NightsThe Certified Nursing Aide is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care to assigned patients to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and MUSC Health standards.Reports to unit nurseWorking Conditions:Attends and participates in continuing education programsWorks in department as well as throughout facilitySubject to frequent interruptionsInvolved with patients, care team members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstancesSubject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, etc.Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and in other positions temporarily as necessarySubject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the workdayPossible exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and hepatitis B virusesEducation, Experience, and Licensure/Certifications:Must be a graduate of a State-approved CNA programMust be currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferredMust have CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.Specific Requirements:Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult patientsMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing departmentMust perform proficiently in all applicable competency areasMaintains professional working relationships with all care team members, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to MUSC Health's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential Functions:Must be able to lift, turn, move, position, and transport patientsMust be able to assist patients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toiletingMust be able to accurately document and chart patient careMust be able to respond to call lights promptlyMust exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of patientsMust demonstrate dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentMust be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamMust be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageMust be able to lift 35 lbs floor to waist, lift 35 lbs waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs, and push/pull 35 lbsAdditional Job Description:CNA Certification with South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry requiredCompletion of accredited Nurse Assistant ProgramIf you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!
