General Maintenance/Plumber

Location: School Board Office/Maintenance Department - Reports To: Supervisor of Maintenance Department

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: Per WBR Salary Schedule - Terms of Employment: 12 Months

General Overview

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Maintenance, this individual will perform skilled manual labor in a variety of functions related to the upkeep of all WBR facilities, along with the repair of school buildings as needed, with a focus on plumbing maintenance duties.

Performance Responsibilities/Essential Duties

General repairs including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, groundskeeping work, painting, assembling furniture and equipment, replacing and/or repairing plumbing and fixtures, troubleshooting equipment and repair equipment (mechanical, electrical), repairing and changing light fixtures and bulbs, repairing and changing ceiling tiles, replacing and/or repairing door and cabinet hardware & windows, ordering supplies and stock inventory, submitting and coordinating work orders, assisting coworkers with tasks as needed, orienting new employees to department procedures, operating truck, tractor, skid steer, scissor lift and other equipment, making deliveries to all WBR locations as needed, identifying deficiencies and recommends maintenance solution to Supervisor, providing courteous and prompt service to customers and school staff, being able to work in a team-based environment, performing other duties as assigned by the proper authority as needed

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, 3 years work experience in general labor or equivalent combination of training and experience (plumbing experience preferred)

Physical Demands

Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Lifting 60 pounds, standing, walking, reaching, bending
