Pay Rate: $26 – $29/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to provide direct patient care and clinical support to adults in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate Degree in Psychology, Human Services, Mental Health, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years of full-time direct care experience in behavioral/psychiatric health, nursing support, mental health counseling, law enforcement, or group dynamics.

• Patient Care Associate (PCA) Certificate required.

• Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) Certification required.

• BLS or HeartSaver Certification required.

• Venipuncture/phlebotomy and EKG competency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, venipuncture, EKGs, specimen collection, and assistance with activities of daily living.

• Assist with patient admissions, orientation, belongings searches, contraband checks, and securing valuables.

• Use CPI techniques to support behavioral de-escalation and crisis management.

• Assist clinical staff with seclusion monitoring, safety restraints, and emergency psychiatric protocols according to policy.

• Safely escort patients to diagnostic imaging, clinics, and other off-unit appointments.

• Support individualized care plans, therapeutic activities, patient safety rounds, and accurate documentation.
