MRI Coordinator (Front Desk Receptionist - Imaging Department)OrthoNY is seeking a Full-Time MRI Coordinator (Front Desk Receptionist - Imaging Department) to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for our patients receiving MRI services. It's a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment and wants to grow within a leading orthopedic practice.Responsibilities:Serve as the first point of contact for MRI patients, delivering warm, professional, and responsive service, obtains required information, documents and signatures;Contacts other imaging centers to set up appointments for our patients and/or provides support to outside vendors;Contacts patients to confirm their test appointment as well as ensures a follow-up appointment has been madePerforms check-out process, collects patient payments, including co-pays and any past due balances, post any cash collected into practice management system and issues receipt;Schedules follow-up appointments and testing as provider directs:Posts charges from encounter form in accordance with correct coding guidelines, using CPT, HCPCS and ICD 9 coding formats;Performs accounts receivable work, balances and closes journal each day;Other responsibilities as needed.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required;Minimum of 1-year experience in a medical setting; 3 years preferred;Excellent communication and customer service skills;Must be familiar with medical terminology;Strong data entry skills.Other Information:Reliable transportation is essential
