Position Summary:

As a Detail Tech at L&S, you will work alongside tri-trade, industry experts to ensure the successful completion of all installations. More specifically, you will support area managers by assisting multiple assigned superintendents in preparing houses for stage completion for each trade as applicable. Most importantly, as a Detail Tech you will be responsible for completing assigned punch items that will ensure each stage is ready to pass formal inspections. The ideal candidate would be experienced in the trades, driven, deadline oriented, and will have a strong desire to grow and learn in a fast-paced industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist assigned area manager in preparing trade stage completion for multiple superintendents in assigned region(s).
• Transport materials to job sites across multiple areas.
• Complete punch list tasks and repairs as assigned by area manager
• Assist superintendents in ensuring sub crews have completed any assigned punch items well and on-time.
• Assist trainees in troubleshooting issues that might be beyond a trainee’s level of expertise and solve issues accordingly and in collaboration with superintendent.
• As needed, assist superintendents in performing detailed walkthroughs to assess if installations are done correctly and meet standards and generate an initial list for superintendents to be aware of the status of installation.
• Learn and remain up to date with basic codes, regulations, and requirements as it applies to each specific neighborhood or municipality.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand plumbing, electrical and HVAC installations and layouts.
• When necessary, complete production service calls of unoccupied homes and assist service technicians with service calls of occupied homes.
• When requested, collaborate with the development department to train trainees to gain the knowledge and skills needed to advance from a trainee to a superintendent at L&S.
• Actively check and respond to electronic communications.

Primary qualifications

• Prior experience with plumbing, electrical or HVAC in residential, new construction preferred but not required.
• Own a reliable vehicle to be used for work purposes—van or truck preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Active Tradesman Plumber license with Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) required, Journeyman Plumber preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with little supervision.
• Driven to grow and open to feedback.

P hysical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including:
• Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and extreme temperatures
• Climbing ladders and stairs; crawling, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 50+ pounds on a routine basis
