What You'll Do:

• Provide OR first assist support for complex adult cardiac surgeries, including CABG, valve repairs, ascending aortic surgeries, and emergent dissections
• Assist with procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacements, sternotomies, and mechanical circulatory support
• Work closely with a team of cardiac surgeons and intensivists in a high-volume academic hospital setting
• Ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes during procedures
• Support post-surgical patient care and documentation using Epic EMR

What You Need:

• Valid Missouri nursing license and BLS certification
• Board certification in advanced practice nursing required; RNFA preferred
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in adult cardiac surgery as an independent practitioner or first assist
• Strong clinical skills and team-oriented mindset

About the Assignment:

This contract position is based at a prestigious academic hospital in St. Louis, MO, specializing in adult cardiothoracic surgery. The facility performs approximately 517 pump cases yearly, offering a dynamic environment for experienced NP professionals to excel in complex surgical procedures. The schedule involves overnight shifts and varying call responsibilities to support a busy cardiac surgery program.
