Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Job Summary: A licensed professional who provides coordinated care to patients as per the Plan of care and under the supervision of an occupational therapist. Provide care/treatment to the patient based on physical, psycho, and/or cognitive impairments Provide intervention to the deficit and elicit responses Collaborates with interdisciplinary team Job Qualifications: Education: Associate / Diploma / Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy Licensure: Current Texas State License as an Occupational Therapy Assistant Experience: 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Home Healthcare or Acute care or Rehabilitation setting Skills: Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice Good interpersonal skills and communication Current CPR Knowledge of durable medical equipment Spanish is a Plus Essential Functions: Perform care according to the plan of care and treatment plan developed by OTand approved by the physician Supervision and coordination by the Supervising OT Provide therapeutic treatments and use of adaptive equipment andenvironmental modifications, fabricate and maintain adaptive equipment and hand splints as applicable Evaluate outcomes of care and measurable goals Apply concepts of infection control and standard precautions incoordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination andtransmission of disease Accept clinical assessments that are consistent with education and competenceto care for patients.
