Senior Project Specialist, Real Estate Design & Construction

Job Description Apply your expertise as a Real Estate Projects Senior at GDIT. You will support the management and coordination of design, permitting, and delivery of real estate projects ranging from minor facility renovations to multi‑phased developments. Location & Core Info On-site daily in Falls Church, VA, with occasional travel to other GDIT facilities. Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Travel required: 10‑25%. How You Will Make an Impact Manage facility improvement projects, including landlord work and tenant improvement allowances. Responsibility for multiple low‑to‑medium complexity projects. Lead master planning, design, estimating and internal project approvals. Partner with Facility Managers, Planners, IT, security, legal, program leads, and procurement. Establish and oversee budgets for all project‑related work. Interface with transaction & facilities teams to confirm space requirements. Create and lead an inclusive project team to drive collaboration. Lead due diligence activities during all phases of design and construction. Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements. Comply with space/building standards and adopt alternatives for efficacy. Engage stakeholders to select and manage project vendors. Support ongoing space management and employee relocation upon project completion. Oversee maintenance manuals, as‑built drawings, warranties, landlord reimbursement and other close‑out requirements. Manage compliance with lease terms related to construction and scope. Assist facilities team with landlord performance issues and community interactions such as municipal hearings, permit reviews, etc. Assist with furniture inventory management, asset management and transfer process. Maintain project documentation and provide final cost accounting and budget closeout. Provide information for internal operations reviews, audit inquiries, tax investigations and asset transfers. What You’ll Need to Succeed Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. Required Experience: 5+ years of designing and/or managing construction related projects. Preferred Skills: Experience with ICD 705 SCIF work and/or secure space build‑outs. Location: On‑site daily in Falls Church, VA. US Person required.
