Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Utica, New York. This travel assignment starts 12/14/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,156 to $2,294 with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shift: Night shifts on a 2x3 schedule (12-hour blocks). Setting: Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown unit in a healthcare environment caring for adults.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients on a Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit; perform assessments, care planning, and ongoing evaluation
- Monitor neurological status and vital signs; respond promptly to changes in patient condition; administer medications and IV therapies
- Manage IV pumps, NG tubes, feeding tubes, and other unit-specific equipment; assist with procedures as needed
- Implement stroke protocols and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team; participate in rounds and coordinate patient care
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC); ensure timely and compliant charting
- Floats to other units as needed to support patient care and unit operations

Requirements
- Active New York RN license; NURSYS verification showing an active NY license and all active RN licenses
- Current AHA BLS certification; NIHSS certification is required for this unit (can be obtained prior to start)
- Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience with stroke stepdown experience; travel experience required
- EPIC EMR experience
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- RTO (time off) requests must be included at submission
- Education: Graduation from an accredited RN program; licensure to practice as RN in NY
- Ability to float to other units as needed
