Therapy - RRT Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Extensive vent management and ICU experience Description:Assignments are based on treatments per day.It is not a heavy load.3-4 vents managed per week.Assignments are split between three nurses on days and evenings, and two nurses on nights.BLS and ACLS are required.RRT is highly preferred, and PALS certification is needed.The patient population primarily includes adults, with a few pediatric patients in the ER or minor surgeries on the floor.The areas covered include inpatient settings such as ICU, ER, labor and delivery, med-surg, psychiatric units, recovery room, and sleep lab.Experience in vent management is essential.RTs draw and read ABGs and can draw off A-lines using Epoc machines.They also assist with bronchoscopy and attend all codes and rapid responses.No EKGs are performed.In labor and delivery, RTs set up blenders and humidifiers.They assist with intubations and stabilize and transfer patients when necessary.Occasionally, RTs may need to go to the sleep lab to provide oxygen or make adjustments based on the licensed polysomnographer's direction.RTs are required to assist with intubations, not to perform them independently.There is a manager available Monday through Friday.Self-scheduling is allowed with a variety of shift options available.Every other weekend is required, along with holiday rotation among permanent staff.No call or standby is required.RTs must float to cover all areas within the facility.Scrub colors include a mix of black and teal for tops and bottoms.Equipment used includes Draeger, Vision BiPAP, V60, Dräger Carina, and Puritan Bennett.A hospitalist is available 24/7, while an intensivist is on call during evenings and nights.Strong open communication skills are essential.RTs should not be afraid to ask questions and must be flexible.The facility is accommodating and traveler friendly.Honesty about skills during the interview is crucial to ensure patient safety.The manager serves as a valuable resource.The charting system used is MEDITECH.BSN is not required.Trauma level setting is acute.Division is Allied Health.Night shifts include 3x12 hours.Required certifications are ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, and RRT via NBRC. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet Health
