Project Architect Michael Maltzan Architecture Employer Los Angeles, CA, US Fri, Jun 5 '26 Posted On $90,000 - $110,000 annually Pay: Michael Maltzan Architecture (MMA) is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Architect with approximately 8-12 years of professional architectural experience in design-focused practices. This role is ideal for a proven leader who can guide projects from concept through construction, with a focus on design excellence, technical rigor, and teamwork. Our work spans a wide range of project types—from museums to affordable housing to infrastructure to urban design—at both national and international scales. Based in our collaborative Silverlake studio, you will be surrounded by a talented team and immersed in a culture of ideas, models and drawings that bring our projects and processes to life. Key Qualifications Strong working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements, both locally and nationally. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, establish priorities, and keep projects moving forward. Advanced proficiency with Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, Rhino, Bluebeam, Enscape and Adobe Suite is required. Additional rendering and visualization software proficiency, as well as experience with Microsoft Project, is a plus. Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with clients. Being licensed is required, preferably in California. Lead interdisciplinary teams through all phases of design and construction, delivering clear, coordinated documentation, and design-driven solutions. Guide the resolution of complex design and technical challenges, balancing architectural intent, technical performance, budget, and constructability. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to advance projects successfully through all phases of design and construction. Support project budgeting, cost tracking, scheduling, and overall project financial coordination. Contribute across a broad range of project types including residential, commercial, cultural, educational, and institutional. Support and mentor junior staff while partnering closely with senior leadership to advance the practice.
