As part of the application process, you agree that TekSynap Corporation may retain and use your name, e-mail, and contact information for purposes related to employment consideration.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and distinguish properties and types of copper/fiber optic cableInterpret blueprintsInventory job supplies and materialsVerify and comply with site safety planBuild telecommunication spaces (e.g., TRs, ERs, EFs, TEs)Install grounding/bonding infrastructureInstall cable support systems (e.g. J Hooks, EMT conduit, wire basket tray)Prepare telecommunication outlet at wall, floor, utility column (power pole)Install cut-in rings (cavity box)Install sleevesInstall poke throughs between floorsInstall Inner Duct for fiber optic cableInstall cable supports systems under the floorInstall firestop and/or smoke barrier systemPull horizontal cables from closet to work areaPull backbone cables between closetsRemove abandoned cablePerform copper terminationsPerform fiber terminationsPerform fiber optic splicing (e.g. fusion, mechanical)Perform fiber cable - basic troubleshooting (e.g., power meter or VFL)Perform Tier 1 fiber certification testing (power meter)Perform Tier 2 fiber testing using OTDRPerform labeling according to a labeling schemeAdhere to local, state, and federal fire and/or building codes and/or standardsRequired QualificationsExperience:Must be US CitizenObtain and maintain an active Secret clearance within 12 months of hire.5+ years of cabling experience in the data communications industry.Experience with wired and wireless environments, including 802.11a/b/g/n standards.Experience in organizing and leading network installations, including on-site assessments and technical plan preparation.Familiarity with engineering documentation, network topologies, and cabling infrastructure standards.Experience in interpreting technical documentation and performing work per industry-standard installation practices.Must have Aerial lift trainingMust have Confined Space trainingMust have Forklift trainingMust have ten (10) Hour OSHA Basic Industry courseSkills:Strong understanding of telecommunications and data cabling systems, materials, and testing procedures.Ability to install and terminate copper and fiber cabling infrastructure.Proficiency in coordinating and documenting technical installation processes.Physical capability to perform manual tasks in physically demanding environments.Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure scenarios.Certifications:Obtain and maintain active BICSI Installer Level 2 or Technician certificationAdditional Job InformationWork Environment and Physical Demands:Locations: Fort Belvoir, VAType of environment: Office, VariedNoise level: MediumWork schedule: Schedule is day shift Monday – Friday. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.
