About the Position

Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical Float Pool

• Location: 651 Dunlop Lane, Clarksville, TN

• Duration: 13 weeks

• Shift: 12-hour Night Shift, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM (schedule listed as 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

• Weekend Requirement: Required; schedule determined by the unit

• Floating: Required across five Medical-Surgical units; may also float to the Emergency Room as needed

• Previous Travel Experience: Required

• Local Candidates: Accepted, subject to facility requirements

Job Duties

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients.

• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes requiring intervention.

• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols.

• Perform nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.

• Provide wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care as needed.

• Monitor patients with a variety of general medical and surgical conditions.

• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the Cerner electronic health record.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery.

• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.

• Float between the five Medical-Surgical units and to the Emergency Room when needed.

• Maintain flexibility to meet changing staffing and scheduling needs.

Requirements

• Active Tennessee RN license or compact/multistate RN license on file at the time of submission.

• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience .

• Previous travel nursing experience required.

• Current BLS certification .

• Strong assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, and patient-care skills.

• Experience caring for adult Medical-Surgical patients.

• Experience with electronic health records; Cerner is used at the facility.

• Ability to float between units and work a flexible schedule based on staffing needs.

• Must be available for required weekends and flexible scheduling.

• Patient population: Adults aged 18 and older with general Medical-Surgical conditions.

• Nurse-to-patient ratios may range from 1:1 to 1:6, depending on patient needs and unit conditions.

• The unit determines the schedule; block scheduling is not offered .

• Time-off requests may be restricted based on operational needs. Confirm requested dates before submission.

• Interview and offer decisions are managed by the facility.
