Bookkeeping Manager/Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Manager to oversee day‑to‑day operations, supervise the team, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients. This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing more complex accounting work and effectively running the function, allowing senior leadership to focus on business development and division growth. The position is fully remote on a permanent basis and offers significant opportunities for internal mobility and upward career growth. You will also gain hands‑on exposure to process improvements, internal controls, system implementations, and end‑to‑end accounting operations, providing broad visibility and valuable experience while working remotely. Job Function Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash flow management, and payroll processing. Complete write‑ups, including bank and credit card reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, payroll postings, and GAAP‑based general ledger maintenance. Prepare multi‑state payroll and sales tax returns; web‑based filing experience is a plus. Prepare internal financial reports for management review. Assist with workers’ compensation and other insurance audits as needed. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree or Certified Bookkeeper required. Experience with QuickBooks Online a must. Experience with innovative, web‑based services, and an ability to learn new programs quickly and competently (Rippling, Bill.com, Expensify, Canopy, etc.). Working knowledge of office based programs; Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, etc. 8 – 15 years in a Client Accounting/Bookkeeping division of a CPA firm or law firm.
